SEBRATHA & THE SAHARA LAKES
The Roman archeology of Sebratha, the Sahara lakes and the western mountains of Garyan
7 days & 8 nights
Day 1
Meeting the tour guide on the arrival at Tripoli airport or Djerba airport then driving to the town of Sebratha, one of the most classical Roman cities of the ancient Tripolitania. Visiting its theater, this is considered to be as one of the best preserved Roman Theater in the world, founded by Phoenician in the second millennium BC? Later on a visit to Sabratha museum that illustrates the Roman heritage through a big fine collection of mosaics. Having dinner and overnight at a 3 star hotel in Tripoli.
Day 2
In Tripoli city visiting the national museum and walking along the alleys of the old city, a chance to see the tradition market "Souk". At the evening we fly to Sabha, where dinner and overnight is at a 3 star hotel.
Day 3
Driving to Wadi Mathendous Via Alfjej to visit the engravings and the natural sites of the area. Then we drive back to Germa, overnight at a camp in the wild.
Day 4
Visiting the ancient center of Garment, we drive along the sand dunes of Ubari to the Sahara lakes of Mandara, Gabroun, and Um Alma. At the end of the day we drive back to Sabha.
Day 5
Going to Garyan via Mizda, it’s the main Berber region, visiting Garyan traditional houses (Troglodyte), dinner and overnight at a 3 start hotel in Garyan.
Day 6
A full day excursion to the magnificent site of Leptis Magna, and a visit to its museum and Villa Selene, which is famous with its mosaics. Back to Tripoli for dinner and overnight.
Day 7
A chance to walk round the town center of Tripoli before having been transferred to Tripoli airport or Djerba airport (Tunisia) for departure.
